Hold more blood donation camps, work in coordination, blood banks told

ALL blood bank centres in the district have to work in coordination and there is a need to create awareness about HIV among the sex workers community, Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde instructed officials of the district.

He chaired a first trimester meeting of blood task force and TB co-morbidity meeting at his office in the city and said that the 25% of blood collected from voluntary blood donation camps conducted by private blood centres should be given to district government blood centres every month. Every blood bank has to make sure that the blood is not wasted and utilised to the fullest during emergencies, he directed.
