Thanks to IEC activities done by various depts

- G SUBHASH CHANDRA @Davanagere/Chitradurga

The sex ratio at birth has shown a marked improvement, rising to 963 in Davanagere, officials sources said. They said consistent efforts of the district Health department helped Davanagere take a giant leap in reduction of medical termination of pregnancies, resulting in improving the sex ratio for 2024-25.

Davanagere district, which was in the 11th position in the male to female sex ratio during 2023-24, has taken the issue seriously and conducted IEC activities effectively through various departments and ASHA workers which helped the district take a leap to second position within one year, the sources added.
