Dalit Forums Demand Arrest of Accused in POCSO Case

DALIT Hakkugala Samiti and several like-minded organisations protested on Thursday, demanding the arrest of Mahesh Bhat, a landowner, who is accused of sexually harassing a minor Dalit girl in Manila village in Vitla.
Addressing a protest rally on Thursday at Vitla Nadakacheri, Dalita Hakkugala Samiti member Eshwari Padmunja said, "Police inaction in this case is visible and they have tried to hide the truth. Police have failed to take action despite the victim's parents getting death threats. The victim girl must be subjected to a medical examination and accused Mahesh Bhat must be immediately arrested," she demanded.
