- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @Shivamogga

DEPUTY Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde has directed the officials concerned to take precautionary measures to manage a potential drought in both urban and rural areas.

Hegde, who chaired a district drought management meeting at his office here on Saturday, instructed tahsildars to hold emergency meetings with executive officers and other officials under the leadership of local MLAs. These meetings should assess drinking water availability and fodder stockpiles in towns and villages while preparing contingency plans for areas that may face shortages.
