He once quiet Basantpur, on the outskirts of Sambalpur, is undergoing a dramatic transformation.
-
Emerging as a vibrant centre of educational, institutional, industrial, and infrastructure development, it is fast positioning itself as a new growth hub for Western Odisha.
With a unique convergence of premier academic institutions, security infrastructure, healthcare and industrial projects, Basantpur is well on its way to becoming Sambalpur's next big urban and commercial centre.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur and Sainik School were among the first projects to catalyze this growth. The Sainik School, a residential institution spread over 100 acre, was established in 2015. It is one of 33 such schools in India designed to prepare young students for the National Defence Academy and other prestigious institutions.
The CRPF Group Centre followed. The paramilitary force developed a 235.54-acre campus, made Basantpur its second group centre in Odisha after Bhubaneswar. Together, these institutions gave the first significant push to Basantpur's evolution from a rural outskirt to urban nucleus.
