STREET vendors in Tiruchy are keenly observing the upcoming Town Vending Committee (TVC) election on May 30, hoping for the formation of a committee that will give them a stronger voice in civic decisions, despite the scorching summer heat.
The nomination process that began on May 12, will conclude on May 19 and so far no nominations have been officially filed. Corporation officials remain optimistic. "Many people are coming forward to collect nomination forms and we are expecting many nominations to be filed on Friday and Monday," a senior official from the corporation said.
