Many Flunk Class 9 & 11 Exams After CBSE Syllabus Introduced in Pondy

A high number of government school students failed in Class 9 and Class 11 exams, sparking concern over new CBSE curriculum implemented in government schools last year, replacing state board syllabus.
While the government has not released official data, sources indicate that the number of failures in each class has nearly doubled compared to the previous academic year. On average, four to five students per class have failed under the CBSE system, compared to two to three under the state board, with many students reportedly failing in more than two subjects.
The sudden introduction of CBSE has caught the high school teachers unprepared to adapt, despite training provided by the school education department, said sources.
