KARNATAKA Rakshana Vedike district president Praveen Kumar has urged the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department to adopt TW3 age verification technology to prevent age fraud among wrestlers participating in the Dasara wrestling competition.
DISTRICT Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa said the film industry is one of the most influential sectors shaping society by integrating social, economic, educational and cultural aspects into people's lives.
Inaugurating the Dasara Film Festival-2025 at Mall of Mysore on Saturday, Mahadevappa said the industry continues to gain popularity through its creations, music and literature, and highlighted the achievements of legendary actress Saroja Devi, hailed as the "lady superstar" of South India.
"She has won hearts with her performances in Kannada, Telugu and Hindi films, and earned recognition at both national and international levels. In honour of her contribution, the state government has decided to confer the Karnataka Ratna Award on Saroja Devi, along with another legendary actor Dr Vishnuvardhan. It is our duty to keep the memories of such achievers alive in society," he said.
