Modi lays foundation stone for HCL-Foxconn chip unit

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a semiconductor manufacturing company India Chip Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Taiwan's electronics manufacturing services company Foxconn and India’s leading IT services company HCL Group, on Saturday at Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly & Test (OSAT) facility is expected to be operational by 2028.
