Kin of 3 students who drowned in Mangaluru receive relief

NEARLY seven months after the tragic drowning of three final-year engineering students from Mysuru at a resort in Mangaluru, the state government has sanctioned a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
Former MLA M K Somashekar handed over the official sanction letters to the bereaved families at his home office on Monday.
The victims, Nishita MD (21), Parvathi S (20), and Keerthana N (21), lost their lives in the swimming pool of Vazco Resort near Mangaluru on November 16, 2024. All three hailed from economically disadvantaged families and had visited Mangaluru after completing their final exams.
