Kamra Defies Summons, Refuses to Apologise

The Mumbai Police on Monday summoned stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra for questioning the next day over a case registered against him for lampooning Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during a recent performance in Mumbai.
However, Kamra refused to appear immediately, citing death threats and concerns for his safety. He reportedly requested a week's time to comply. Kamra also took to social media and said he had no reason to apologise since he had only repeated what deputy chief minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar had already said.
