Report says FTA with UK will support India's manufacturing ambitions
INDIA may attract lower US tariffs than many other Asia Pacific (APAC) countries, making it a more attractive destination for global investment, Moody's Ratings said on Thursday.
As per the ratings agency, these lower tariffs make it cheaper to export goods from India, potentially helping the country become a major global manufacturing hub. The report also stated that the signing of a free trade agreement (FTA) with the UK in May, along with ongoing negotiations for an FTA with the European Union, could further support India's manufacturing ambitions.
