Cops Recommend Cancellation of 82 DLs

DEPUTY Commissioner Vidya Kumari K said the police department had recommended the suspension of driving licences of 82 individuals involved in fatal road accidents in the district, while 59 licences have already been revoked.

She directed the authority concerned to cancel the remaining 23 licences within a week.

She said this while presiding over the Road Safety Committee meeting held at DC's office in Rajathadri on Tuesday.

She said temporary safety measures have been implemented in black spots identified on national highways in the district. However, work on the permanent safety measures in these areas must be completed at the earliest.

She also directed officials concerned to scientifically install signboards, zebra crossings and speed breakers in front of schools located near roads.
