Central legislation on exclusive budget for SCs demanded

LOLAKSHA, president of Confederation of SCs' and STs' Organisations submitted a memorandum to Kishore Makwana, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Castes during his visit to Mangaluru on Sunday.

He urged to recommend the Union Government to bring a central legislation for budgetary allocation of funds, exclusively for the welfare and development of members, families and habitations of Scheduled Castes in the country.

In the memorandum, Lolaksha said, "Proportionate budgetary allocations can be made in the departments of Housing, Social Justice and Empowerment, Agriculture, Industry, Employment and Training, Labour and in the Service sector."
