State pollution board issues notice to Manipal-based firm over discharge of sewage
KARNATAKA State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Udupi Regional Office, has issued a show-cause notice to M/s Marines Canning Industries located in the KIADB Industrial Area, in Shivalli, Manipal, for allegedly violating provisions under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
The notice, dated May 8, 2025, follows multiple complaints, inspections and recent media reports highlighting the discharge of sewage and industrial effluents from the factory into nearby stormwater drains.
