A day ahead of the International Women's Day, Director General of Police (Head of the Police Force) Shankar Jiwal said the police must give more attention to the cases falling under the crime against women and children category.
Addressing a gathering of officials from Madurai city, rural and Virudhunagar district at the City Police Office (CPO) here on Friday, Jiwal said the registering of cases, conducting petition enquiries, trials and getting conviction in cases were a regular part of policing. However, a few categories must be given more attention and one such is the 'crime against women and children', he said.
