No permanent teacher, nine fail in Tamil in Class 10

NINE students from Kallar Reclamation Higher Secondary School in Thumakundu failed in their Class 10 Tamil examination, leading to activists blaming the school education department for not filling Tamil teacher posts lying vacant for over 10 years.
Social workers have urged School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi to take responsibility for the failure and pass these students off.
Around 45 students from Kallar Reclamation Higher Secondary School appeared in the recent Class 10 examination, and nine of them failed in Tamil, and one among them failed in both Tamil and English. It is learnt that the school has not had a permanent Tamil teacher for Classes six to 12 for the past ten years.
