CBI court convicts Gali Janardhan Reddy & 3 others in Obulapuram Mining Company case
ALMOST 16 years after the case was registered, a CBI special court in Hyderabad convicted and sentenced Karnataka BJP leader and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and three others to seven years imprisonment in the Obulapuram Mining Company case.
The court also acquitted Sabitha Indra Reddy, who was handling the mines portfolio at the time in the undivided Andhra Pradesh government, and also acquitted former IAS officer B Kripanandam in the case. Soon after the CBI court pronounced its verdict, the CBI took the four convicts into custody.
