Anganwadi staff stage stir, seek summer vacation

HUNDREDS of members of Tamil Nadu Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association staged sit-in protests in Madurai and Tirunelveli on Friday, demanding regularisation of employment, one-month summer vacation, and immediate filling up of vacancies, among others.
Staging a demonstration in front of the Madurai collectorate, over 100 Anganwadi workers said many of them have completed 10 years of service and demanded that the state government regularise their employment.
