The last 18 months saw a major success for the security forces against Naxalites, as over 400 operatives, against whom some rewards were there, have been neutralised in Chhattisgarh.
Among them included a record number of 48 women extremists, officials said on Saturday.
According to data accessed by this newspaper, women now account for nearly 25 percent of 435 Naxals killed in encounters during the period, the highest recorded since 2001.
