Punjab deploys crack cops, FCI asked to lift wheat

THE Punjab government initiated emergency measures on Friday to ensure the security of the people and the safety of wheat stocks, given the prevailing threat of military attacks from across the border.
It asked the Food Corporation of India to immediately lift wheat stocks from the border districts, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Ferozepur and Fazilka, which face maximum threat from drone or missile attacks.
