CPM district secretary R Nazar has backed excise officials in the controversy related to drug abuse by a group of youngsters, including MLA U Prathibha's son. The CPM has no opinion that the excise department made a mistake by registering a case against the MLA's son and eight others under the NDPS Act, Nazar told reporters in Alappuzha on Wednesday.
