Truck with 150 gas cylinders catches fire in UP

A massive fire broke out in a truck loaded with around 150 gas cylinders leading to a series of blasts for about half an hour in UP's Ghaziabad district on Saturday.
The blasts in the truck under flames were so powerful that it led to the collapse of a godown at Bhopura Chowk on Delhi-Wazirabad Road. However, no casualty or injury was reported, officials said.
Local sources said the parts of the exploding cylinders were flying far and wide leading to a fire in 2-3 houses in the vicinity. "The sound of the blasts could be heard in the periphery of 3 km. People residing in the vicinity rushed out of their houses thinking it to be a bomb blast. Even the vehicles parked in the vicinity also caught fire," a local source said.
