Nehru Trophy Boat Race Postponed to August 30

THE STATE government has approved the decision to postpone the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race (NTBR)—held every second Saturday of August—to August 30 this year.
The decision was made after the NTBR Society appealed to the government to reschedule the date.
For the past few years, the race had been postponed at the last minute due to floods and natural disasters, resulting in large-scale losses to participating boats, organizers, and even boat race buffs who had reserved tickets earlier to attend the event.
