What is Robotic Thyroidectomy?

Thyroidectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid gland—a procedure done for conditions like thyroid nodules, cancers, or goiters. Traditionally, this meant making a cut in the front of the neck, which, while safe and effective, often left a visible scar.

Robotic thyroidectomy, however, is a scarless approach. Instead of operating through the neck, the surgeon accesses the thyroid through small incisions made in areas like the armpit or the chest wall. These hidden entry points allow the surgeon to reach the thyroid gland using a robotic surgical system like da Vinci Xi.
