3 people recently died after wrong U-turn by Punjab-origin driver
The US has announced it will stop issuing work visas for commercial truck drivers, following a deadly crash in Florida, involving an Indian driver staying illegally in the country, that drew national attention. The move is expected to affect many Indian drivers who had hoped to work in the American trucking industry.
The accident happened earlier this month on Florida's Turnpike where Harjinder Singh, who came to the US illegally in 2018, tried to make an unlawful U-turn through a service-only access point. His truck blocked traffic and slammed into a passenger van, killing three people.
