Panel to look into agri price crashes, hike in farm income

Amid farmers' protests, the Centre is planning to appoint an experts' committee that will examine traders' manipulations behind agriculture produce price crashes.
Based on the committee's recommendations, the government will intervene in the market to stabilise prices and augment farmers' incomes.
A senior government official said the government is looking for a middle path to address farmers' concerns. It has no plan to legalise MSP and ensure C2-50% demand as per the Swaminathan committee.
