Optimistic about eliminating TB from India this year, says Nadda

UNION Health Minister JP Nadda on Tuesday said he is optimistic that India will meet the target of eliminating tuberculosis from the country this year and he will be able to confirm it by the first week of April.
"I am optimistic about meeting the target," Nadda said, when asked about whether India will be able to eliminate TB by 2025, five years ahead of the global target. He explained that two years had been wasted battling the Covid-19 pandemic. "Covid-19 was a calamity. We wasted two years in combating it. Our efforts are on to meet the deadline," he told media.
