|May 12, 2025
Since ceasefire came into effect, there have been no reports of shelling, firing, or drone sightings across J&K
The border residents of Uri and other areas in Jammu and Kashmir have expressed relief following the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Since the ceasefire came into effect, there have been no reports of shelling, firing, or drone sightings across the Union Territory. Those who have been most affected by the cross-border shelling are now hopeful for lasting peace.
Police have advised residents who had relocated to safer areas not to return home until unexploded shells are cleared. On Sunday, the absence of sirens and explosions created a semblance of normalcy throughout Jammu and Kashmir. Markets in Srinagar and other parts of the valley buzzed with activity.
