Layered Hill Cutting Begins in North Kuppam to Prevent Further Landslips

IN AN EFFORT to prevent further landslips along the national highway in the Kuppam region, layered cutting of hills has begun in North Kuppam. Thaliparamba RDO T V Ranjith announced that the company involved in the highway construction has agreed to remove soil in stages from the hilly terrain to minimise the risk of continuous landslips during heavy rain.

"Layering of the hills has already started in North Kuppam. We expect to complete the work by Tuesday. A technical evaluation will be conducted on Wednesday, and a decision on resuming traffic through the Kuppam-Chudala stretch of the national highway will follow," said Ranjith. He urged the public to cooperate with the restrictions in place for their safety.
