Swachh Vahini workers demand fair wages, job security

THE Swachh Vahini workers under the banner of Karnataka State Gram Panchayat Workers' Union (CITU), Belagavi District Committee, carried out a protest rally from Rani Channamma Circle to Zilla Panchayat office, Belagavi on Monday and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Belagavi, demanding immediate redressal of issues faced by Swachh Vahini workers employed under various Gram Panchayats across the district.

In their memorandum, union leaders highlighted several long-standing grievances, most notably the lack of uniformity in wages paid to sanitation workers and vehicle drivers.
