DESCRIBING Vijayapura City Corporation as an inefficient Corporation, Lokayukta B S Patil has expressed unhappiness over the functioning of the Corporation with regard to administration work and maintaining cleanliness.
"I am hearing so many complaints about the City Corporation functioning on not giving importance to cleanliness, and mainly on huge corruption in doing public work. Our officials recently conducted a surprise investigation and have found several illegalities. The files do not move further being bribed by the officials. You are making people move from pillar to post to get their work done," he retorted.
Chairing the review meeting on Monday, Patil was visibly upset more on delaying in clearing files related to e-Khata as he said that hundreds of files are getting piled up and the corporation giving no solution to it. To this, officials of the Corporation claimed that due to technical glitches faced by the software, the Corporation could not clear the files.
Unhappy with the response, Patil directed Deputy Commissioner, Dr K Anand to check the status and convey the matter to the higher officials of the department. Patil directed the Corporation officials to clear all field related to e-Khata within a fortnight.
