The scenic location of IIT Mandi goes a long way in boosting the potential that the institute holds. IIT Mandi's Director talks about this and a lot more

- LAXMIDHAR BEHERA, Director, IIT Mandi

IIT Mandi has completed 15 years. Tell us about two milestones that have shaped the institute.

According to me, two such milestones are the research facilities and the vision that we have created.

The first unique research facility is that of the Advanced Materials Research Centre (AMRC). This facility has high-end modern equipment required for material characterisation like Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, etc.

The semiconductor fabrication facility is another unique one where we can fabricate devices of the size of a few nanometres in scale of three to seven nanometres. IIT Mandi's second milestone is the establishment of four centres promoting interdisciplinary research.
