Hope revived for B.Tech (Agri) College in V'pura, amid flak over Krishi Mela

THE announcement made by District Minister M B Patil to get approval for the establishment of B. Tech (Agriculture) College on the present Agriculture College premises, has kindled hopes for having the college again in Vijayapura after several years.

Patil made this announcement after inaugurating the annual Krishi Mela being conducted at the College of Agriculture by the University of Agriculture Sciences-Dharwad on Saturday. He also said that an effort will be made to get the college approved in the next state budget.

It may be noted that the Agriculture College had started the B. Tech (Agri) department about a decade ago where the classes were also conducted. However, the college ran only for one year before getting shifted to Raichur.
