Ensure Awareness of Farm Scheme Benefits Among Farmers: Minister

Senior official says all gram panchayats being informed about opening of 29 seed distribution centres

MUNICIPAL Administration and Haj Minister Rahim Khan instructed officials to educate farmers on the benefits of sowing seeds, Krishibhagya Yojana, organic farming and other schemes provided by the government in a timely manner.

He was speaking after inaugurating the sowing seeds distribution and seed treatment and pesticide safety training programme organised in Chambola village under the joint aegis of the Zilla Panchayat, Agriculture Department, and Assistant Director of Agriculture, Bidar on Tuesday.

Bidar Joint Director of Agriculture Ziaullah K said that all the gram panchayats are being informed about the 29 seed distribution centres where soya and other seeds are stored and sowing seeds are being distributed date-wise.

Since there has been timely rain, more priority should be given to uddu, neem and mixed crops.

He also advised the farmers to use compound fertilizers instead of DAP.
