CONGRESS leader Pawan Khera has suffered a setback as the Gauhati High Court rejected his pre-arrest bail plea in connection with his comments on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma.

Khera had claimed that Rinki possessed multiple passports and owned undisclosed properties abroad.

The CM, who is away in West Bengal for the election campaigning, refused to comment on the high court order citing the model code of conduct in force in Assam. “I will review the case only after May 4 if I come back to power,” he said.
