AGRICULTURE-based startups are revolutionising the Indian economy. Today, India's economy is the fourth largest in the world, and the agriculture sector is a major contributor to it, said Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot.
He was virtually addressing the 14th convocation of the Raichur University of Agricultural Sciences organised in Raichur on Monday. Soil, water, and food are being polluted due to excessive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides, which is adversely affecting health. We need to work harder towards promoting farming practices like organic farming and natural farming. This will increase agricultural production and will also help in environmental protection, he opined.
