A Kalaburagi court has sentenced a person to five years of imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on him in connection with a theft case, according to an official press release issued here on Saturday.
The press note stated that the thief broke the door belonging to Chandrashekhar's house, situated at Siddheshwar Colony, on December 22, 2025, and stole five grams of gold ornaments, 30 grams of silver ornaments and Rs 3,000 in cash.
The then ACP sub-urban sub-division of Kalaburagi City Geeta Benanal and her team investigated the case and arrested accused Mallappa alias Mallu alias Malleshi and recovered the stolen ornaments and cash. The inspector of University police station filed a charge-sheet in the court.
