The transmission of rate cuts happens with a lag, but this time around the transmission has been faster, RBI governor Sanjay Malhotra said in the post-policy press conference following the RBI's decision to cut the repo rate by 25 basis points.
Malhotra acknowledged that while the RBI has front-loaded monetary easing to support growth, the transmission of rate cuts to the broader economy remains uneven and subject to time lags.
