THE Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to get a new Director between May 20 and 23, unless the incumbent, Praveen Sood, gets an extension.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the meeting of the selection committee in the PMO on Monday evening with Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna.
The high-power three-member committee is responsible for the final approval of a senior-most IPS officer to head India's premier investigative agency.
