The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea by former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his son, Chaitanya Baghel, challenging the powers of the CBI and the ED to arrest and investigate accused individuals and their respective jurisdictions in cases related to the alleged liquor scam.
Junking the petition, the apex court asked Baghel and his son to move the concerned High Court for interim relief.
In his plea, Baghel alleged that the Respondents—Centre, Chhattisgarh government, CBI and the ED—have been filing malafide chargesheets/prosecution complaints and taking coercive actions against several individuals.
