THE repair of all 32 crest gates of the Tungabhadra Dam, including installing the long-damaged Gate No. 19, is scheduled to begin in the summer of next year, according to dam authorities.
Farmers from the region have expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Tungabhadra Board for releasing over 20 TMC of water into the river without it being used for agricultural purposes. They allege that delays in floating tenders and other technical issues resulted in the unnecessary release of valuable water resources, impacting farmers across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
