Property tax defaulters, watch out! HDMC coming after you through GIS survey

TO bring all hidden and falsely self-assessed properties in Hubballi-Dharwad twin cities under the tax net, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) will soon conduct a Geographic Information System (GIS) survey of all properties.
The corporation expects to collect over Rs 350 crore in annual tax revenue once the survey is completed.
The GIS survey of properties was a long-pending demand from the corporation to the state government, but the latter had been delaying the proposal for various reasons. However, the government has now given its consent for the survey to be conducted independently, and HDMC has already completed the tender process to appoint a survey agency.
