New Material Testing Centre Seeks Additional Grant From Govt

The Karnataka Material Testing and Research Centre (KMTRC) has sought an additional grant from the government to widen the scope of testing and equip the centre with advanced infrastructure facilities. It has also planned to add two more floors to the newly built double-storey building to equip the centre with additional testing machinery.

The KMTRC is the only centre in North Karnataka having recognition from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories. It has been set up by the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the North Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association. For the last 30 years, the centre has been serving industries of all scales from North Karnataka and also enterprises in the central part of the state are using the facilities at the centre. The local industries were earlier dependent on testing centres at Bengaluru and Pune.
