Door-to-door police campaign evokes good response

The door-to-door campaign launched by the Police Department is getting a good response in Gadag town and extension areas.

Residents say that this new initiative was essential as Gadag has witnessed several theft cases in the last two months.

Though Gadag has a Third Eye project, under which it keeps vigilance across the city through advanced CCTVs, thieves wear masks and target locked houses.

The recently launched Locked Houses Monitoring System and the visits by police officials to the houses of people have instilled a sense of security among residents. Some police officials said that residents fear that police will summon them because this is the first time police officials are knocking on the doors.
