CONDEMNING the punitive action taken against top police officers for the deaths of 11 RCB fans during the stampede near M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, BJP MLA Mahesh Tenginkai demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Home Minister G Parameshwar quit their posts owing to moral responsibility.
Mahesh mocked the state government, saying that action against the police was akin to the government using a cannon to kill mosquitoes. In the stampede, 11 innocent people lost their lives. This tragic incident, where 11 young men and women died, has made national headlines. The reason for all this is the irresponsibility of the chief minister and deputy chief minister, who failed to make proper security arrangements.
