A meeting of the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board, which was held here under the chairmanship of its president Dr. Ajay Singh on Saturday, decided to allocate a grant of Rs 1,500 crore to different departments for the overall development of the region this year.
The departments which receive the grant should share a matching amount of the grant.
Addressing a press conference after the board meeting, Dr. Ajay Singh said that the ministers present in the meeting have agreed to provide a matching grant which means an amount of Rs. 3,000 crore would be spent for the development of the region, Dr Ajay Singh said.
He further said that Karnataka government has sanctioned Rs 5,000 crore to KKRDB this year also and the remaining amount of Rs 3,500 crore would be spent under Micro and Macro plans as per the recommendations of the MLAs of the concerned constituencies.
The Board has decided to provide a grant for the establishment of the NIMHANS branch in Kalaburagi.
