Start work on rail bridge, urge D'puri residents

The wait for the Bharathipuram-Vennampatti railway bridge prolongs even as the traffic situation in Dharmapuri town has worsened.
The demand for a railway bridge was raised by Dharmapuri residents a decade ago.
Fed up of traffic snarls, residents have demanded the Dharmapuri district administration and the South Western Railway to take steps to construct the railway bridge.
The state government had announced two years ago the construction of the bridge at a cost of ₹37 crore. Accordingly, State Minister of Municipal Administration KRN Nehru laid the foundation stone six months ago but no work has been undertaken so far, said local residents.
