Scare for Saudi aircraft from Jeddah as smoke billows from wheels

AMID the ongoing concerns over the recent air crash in Ahmedabad, panic gripped over 250 passengers and crew aboard a Saudi aircraft from Jeddah when smoke was detected from the plane's wheels upon landing at Lucknow's Chaudhury Charan Singh International airport on Sunday.

As the flight headed toward the terminal for taxiing, a ground handling crew noticed wisps of smoke billowing from the left-side wheels. The Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team responded promptly and worked with the Saudia crew in successfully containing the smoke and preventing any damage to the aircraft. The flight was scheduled to return to Jeddah on Monday evening.
