Funnelled fake bills in collusion with officials

- Dilip Singh Kshatriya @ Ahmedabad

Gujarat police arrested Kiran Khabad, the younger son of State Panchayat and Agriculture Minister Bachu Khabad, on Sunday, intensifying the crackdown on the high-profile Khabad family in the Dahod MNREGA scam probe.

The arrest took place on the Vadodara-Halol highway just hours after his elder brother, Balwant Khabad, was taken into custody on Saturday. Both brothers were under the scanner for their direct links to companies tied to the fraud.

Dahod DySP Jagdish Bhandari said, "Seven people have been arrested in the MNREGA scam. Some are in judicial custody, others on remand. Today, five more were nabbed during a statewide crackdown."
